Kid-Wasabi

It's been a whirlewind pass few months between the "surprise" drug testing at work (I passed with fling colors - drugs are bad m'kay) and the passing of my mom a few weeks ago (She had been ill for sometime and it came as little surprise but at least she was in no pain) And that is just touching on the high points really. BUT on a happier note I feel recharged battery wise and have several pages of my "creative" note book filled with new ideas and a few projects as well.

So with luck i will finally have the time to start up with sketches for the new stuff and post them here as well! My current idea is an homage to an Iron Age comic title I truely loved way back in the day with a few personal twists and tweeks - but inspired by the book none the less! What comic you ask?!? Stormwatch - a great comic that told the story of UN operatives that acted as an anti-terrorist group. Always been a fan of large team books that allow a large enough group of characters for the "on hand" team to be mixed and matched (Think Legion of Superheroes as well folks).

Anywho long story short I have begun work on The Twelve - top secret organization opperatives inspired by the signs of the Zodiac. This should be a very fun way to be creative and to pass the time as well. I am also working up how these characters would fit into my Heroic U(niverse) as well perhaps as adult heroes. But who knows!

All in all things here are ok - well on my way to doing better. I hope all is well with you and yours fellow deviants!

Well greetings folks! I'm back and jumping on my soapbox for a min. as INDY PLANET SUX.
I just tried to pick up copies of Adam Withers and Comfort Loves UNIQUES issues 7-9 (that's $15 they will not be seeing sad to say) Only to spend 30 mins getting the hose from Indy Planet the system would take my order to a point then restart the whole god damn process all over again on me!

Not once would the stupid system allow me to just buy the damn books! So I will not be buying them! EVER if i have to use that piece of shit INDY PRESS! Sorry Adam and Comfort but they just lost you a fan and a paying costumer as well!

Well has it really been a year since I joined DeviantART.... Wow and what an exciting year it has been. I have met so many interesting and creative people here all of whom seem to be very supportive of the work and efforts of their fellow artists.

So here's to the holiday season! May it bring joy and happiness to each and every one of you and your families and loved ones! And here's to 2010 may the new year bring new adventure and new challenges and new excitement to us all!

I have my own big plans for the upcoming new year myself as well! And I look forward to sharing these with you as they all begin to unfold!

On another note - This very endeavor has allowed me to be exposed to three new artists that I am now watching as I am being exposed to the work of new and very talented folks! This is turning out to be a great idea for sharing and spreading Art Love!

Well Project: Rooftop is taking their sweet time about show us the new Wolverine outfits. But the other day while checking to see the progress a cool idea hit me! I have always been a fan of the old Spiderman & his Amazing Friends cartoon! It was one of my favorites as a kid and ranked right up there with the Super Friends and Battle of the Planets.

So I though wouldn't it be cool to see other peoples takes on the idea of Spiderman and two other heroes from the Marvel Universe teamed up together. Now you could go with the classic line up of Iceman and Firestar (and I think it could make an interesting piece to do an up dated version of the three) BUT what I am talking about is doing your own version of the team.

Take ol' Webhead and any two other Heroes of the Marvel Universe. Put together an action shot of the new trio and I would be willing to post links to such "rethinkings" right here on my page! I have read a lot of Journals here on DA where folks where asking for new ideas of "what to draw" well here is a prime chance to let those creative juices flow. And if you want to spice things up as well put Spidey in your favorite outfit as well (ie if you dug the black outfit go for it or if the civil war duds did it for ya have at)

Me personally I would do Spiderman (in his black and silver outfit) paired with the following "Amazing Friends" : Nocturne (of the Exiles and Excalibur) & Wiccan (of the Young Avengers)

As a writer there could be so much in the way of awesome story lines to explore and so much cool background to draw from: The fact that Nocturne and Wiccan are both the "off spring" of a Scarlet Witch comes to mind right off the bat!

So there's the pitch! Let's see your take on Spiderman and His NEW Amazing Friends!
